About this variety
An easy to grow vegetable plant, Beetroot Boltardy is considered the best variety by many as its resistance to bolting makes it invaluable for early plantings.
The beets produced are globe shaped with superb sweet flavour and a deep red colour.
When the beets are at least 2.5cm in diameter you can start thinning out. Early thinings can be used in salads as 'baby beetroots', whilst remembering to leave some beets to grow on to lift and use in the autumn.
How are these plants supplied?
The vegetable plants are supplied as multi-sown cell grown plants that are ready to plant out into your garden or allotment. Although you may split the plug up into individual plants if you prefer, we suggest that you plant the plug as a whole as the beets will push away from each other as they grow. Can also be grown in containers.
