About this Broccoli variety
Broccoli F1 Santee is the improved version of variety F1 Bordeaux. It requires no cold exposure to initiate the spear production, thus enabling in cropping the same year as planting. This hybrid variety will produce an abundance of tasty spears from early summer through to late autumn.
Plant 50cm apart in well-drained, but moist soil that has been well manured. Water well during dry weather and apply a liquid feed as the plant grows, especially when the spears are developing.
Broccoli is a good source of health-promoting antioxidants..
How are these plants supplied?
The vegetable plants are supplied as individual cell grown plants, that are ready to place straight into your garden or vegetable plot. The plants are sown in commmercial size plug trays that we then cut to give a strip of 14 plants. The tray is then packed in to one of our specially designed boxes, this way the plants roots are protected during transit.
Purple Sprouting Broccoli Plants are available: March to August.
