About this Calabrese variety.
Broccoli Sticcoli is the replacement for Tendergreen. The idea was to breed a more flavoursome Brassica by producing a hybid of Broccoli and Chinese Kale.
This variety produces delicious green broccoli spears on edible stems, which taste similar to asparagus and are high in Vitamins A & C, plus many other minerals. In the kitchen it requires very little preparation and is therefore a great time-saver with minimal wastage. It is quick to cook and can even be served raw. It lends itself to many styles of cuisine, in particular oriental dishes – ideal for stir frying, however can also be blanched, microwaved, boiled, steamed, deep fried or grilled.
During production it is important to pinch out the first head at an early stage as this encourages the side shoots to develop. Transplant March - June, crops from June - October.

The vegetable plants are supplied as individual cell grown plants, that are ready to place straight into your garden or vegetable plot.Allow 40cm spacing between plants and plant successionally from March onwards for crops from June onwards.
