About this variety
The exceptionally late season of Strawberry Judibell gives it a unique position in the cropping with 50% of the berries ripening typically 35 days later than Elsanta. This late cropping is the result of Judibell having an extended period of dormancy. In most seasons the plants remain dormant until mid May in southern England.
The berries have a orange/ red skin colour and are juicy with a pleasant flavour. The plants have intermediate vigour and foliage is quite dense, thus the fruit is partially hidden by the foliage. Judibell has good all round disease resistance.
Strawberries are hardy plants that require a sunny posiiton to ripen the fruits. They are fast growing and can be grown in almost any soil. They are also popular in hanging baskets and containers. Healthy plants will produce an abundance of berries for three to four years, after which they should be replaced.
How are these plants supplied?
These strawberry plants are supplied as bare root runners and should be planted or potted on arrival. On delivery pot on into a minimum of a 9cm pot then grow on until they are considered large enough for planting in their final position. Instructions will be sent with your order.
